Meet Michaela

A recent addition to the Brown & Brown studio has been our new Designer Michaela Hunt, who relocated from Suffolk to make a new home here in the northern wilds.

We're really pleased to have her on board, and look forward to developing more projects with the significant talents of our newly expanded team. We grabbed five minutes with Michaela to say hello:

How did you end up here?

We have friends that live in the area who we visited often. We really enjoyed our visits and being in the area.

One thing led to another and we sold up in Suffolk and moved to Scotland!

What does your role involve?

Working on projects at a variety of stages, located across Scotland.

Any architectural heroes?

Probably Christopher Wren. I was lucky enough to study in the buildings he was involved in at the Old Royal Naval College, which is now the University of Greenwich.

The sheer grandeur was amazing.

He was also responsible for rebuilding a number of London's churches after the Great Fire, and most notably St Paul's Cathedral, which today keeps as a subtle reminder of London's history as the city grows.

Quiet studio or noisy studio?

A mixture! Generally I like music to be playing but there are times I need a quiet studio!

(Andrew might also have something to add about my musical taste!).

Favourite thing about your job?

Seeing a happy client.

What do you like doing when you're not at work?

At the moment most of my time is taken up re-decorating our house, but generally I like swimming and walking too.
